Terms of Service

The agreement between you and RushVan when you use the marketplace as a shipper or a carrier. Last updated: draft, 2026.

Draft — not yet reviewed by counsel. This document is an early-stage skeleton for RushVan. It is not the final agreement, may change substantially, and should not be relied on as legal terms until it is reviewed and published in force.

RushVan operates a marketplace that connects shippers with independent carriers already driving a route. RushVan is not a carrier and does not itself transport goods. We provide the platform that matches a shipment to a driver, handles payment, and supports tracking, identity, and dispute resolution. The transport contract for any given shipment is performed by the independent carrier matched to it.

When you book, you authorize payment for the quoted price. RushVan uses an authorize-then-capture model: we place a hold at booking and capture the amount at pickup scan (or, for car transport, once a dispatcher confirms a flatbed and price). Payouts to carriers are released after delivery, subject to a holding period and no open dispute.

During the launch period, RushVan charges a flat €1 platform fee on parcels under €50 and the carrier keeps the full transport price; a percentage commission applies to larger jobs. All prices are shown inclusive before you confirm. There is no bidding.

You may cancel a booking before pickup; the authorization hold is released and no capture is made. Once a shipment is scanned at pickup it is in transit and cannot be cancelled, only handled through the dispute process below. Carriers who accept and then abandon a matched job may face account action. Specific windows and any cancellation fees will be defined here.

The following may never be shipped through RushVan:

  • Dangerous goods — explosives, flammable liquids or gases, corrosives, compressed gas, and any hazardous material.
  • Live animals of any kind.
  • Illegal items — anything unlawful to possess, sell, or transport in the origin, transit, or destination country, including drugs and weapons.
  • Cash, and unregistered high-value valuables outside the declared-value insurance framework.
  • Perishables or anything requiring conditions RushVan does not support, and anything a carrier is not licensed to transport.

You are responsible for the contents you declare. Misdeclaring a prohibited item may result in the shipment being stopped, reported, and your account terminated.

Each shipment carries insurance up to a declared value ceiling of €1,000. RushVan’s liability for loss or damage is limited to the declared value of the shipment, capped at that ceiling. RushVan is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, nor for delay caused by border, weather, or force-majeure events. The insurance certificate for each shipment is shown on its tracking page.

Carriers on RushVan are independent contractors, not employees or agents of RushVan. They decide which jobs to accept, supply their own vehicle and insurance (including valid RCA), and are responsible for their own tax and regulatory compliance, save for the cabotage safeguards RushVan enforces in-app. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.

If something goes wrong, open a dispute from the tracking page before the payout holding period ends. RushVan reviews the custody chain — pickup photo, checkpoints, delivery PIN — and mediates between shipper and carrier. Where the parties cannot agree, governing law and the forum for resolution will be specified in this section.
